The Beloved Series centers on this passage: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. —Colossians 3:12"

The Beloved Series started as a decision to paint my artistic equivalent of chocolate cake. For one Summer, I decided to paint only what made me truly happy and joyful.

I chose a smooth Arches paper which accepts the watercolor and pencil combination beautifully. It is perfect for digital scanning and reproduces excellent images. The paper is more fragile than others that I would take to the beach and throw in the water so I painted in these images mainly in the woods. I live with one of the originals and the work gives off a brilliant energy which surprised even me.

I painted The Beloved Series with the intention of making fabric from these designs and I will. The titles were specific and for now these original paintings are also beautiful “Sending you Love Notes” cards available here and on Amazon.com
